DSB International School, also known as Deutsche Schule Bombay is India’s oldest international school founded in 1960 and located in the heart of Mumbai. It started with the vision of providing holistic education to expats at par with the international educational standards. Their target group, the parents of the students, are mostly high net worth individuals from UK, Germany, US and East Asia residing in India for work purposes.

Industry Overview

International Schools is a very small niche compared to the whole education sector in India. To be successful in this highly-competitive industry, you have to convince the tech-savvy parents of today with state of the art facilities and a trustworthy website- the ‘digital home of the school.’

The Ask

1. With the admission season just around the corner, the client wanted their new website to reach the right audience and generate reliable leads for them.

2. The client wanted their website to be easily discoverable and user-friendly for students, parents & office staff as well. They also wanted a consistent flow of leads and cumulative brand awareness.

The Challenges

Despite being the oldest international school in the country, DSB International School had no visibility in the digital world.

The existing website was not mobile responsive, nor was it optimized for SEO.

This led to poor organic traffic and high bounce rate.

The web pages were not optimized with the right keywords to target the right audience.

Above all, the client wanted to generate reliable leads through the website. The goal was to create an all-digital enquiry process.

Our Strategy

UI UX Upgrade

We revamped their previous website with intuitive UI UX and SEO-healthy parameters. At Olio, a good website is an SEO-friendly website.

Site-wide on-page SEO changes

We updated the site’s schema markup to better represent it in the search results and added canonical tags to avoid page duplication. It resulted in an improvement in the Website Score by 56%.

Keyword Research

Conducted exhaustive research to find the right keywords. Based on the identified keywords, we optimized the target landing pages.

Internal Linking

Undertook massive link building campaign which included Quora submissions, company profile creation, social sharing, and RSS feed submission.
